Every season has its trend. It is true that sometimes, some are more difficult to adopt than others because they are more fanciful and out of the ordinary.
This summer, we got it, fashion is all about accessories of all kinds. We should not take everything for granted as a good look must respect several steps. Fashionistas like to try new things, associate colours, shapes, materials. They dare and we would love to do the same.
This season, PVC is the detail that will make all the difference. We never thought that this material famous during this winter season would return on the catwalks for this summer. But the plastic madness is not ready to stop.
There is not one but several plastics, transparent or iridescent. One thing is certain: brands and designers have had fun working on them for the spring-summer 2018 season. Indeed, just look at famous houses like Balmain, Burberry or Chanel that have exploited this trend on the catwalks by offering pieces in translucent or coloured plastics.
Available in hats, visors, belts, bags and sandals, PVC is the key material for this new season. Forget about the coats and rain boots, pieces you cannot wear under the crushing heat of the summer. Instead, think to change your goods and get inspiration from inspired by the bag “Gabrielle” or “Boy Chanel”.
The others did it so why not us? Do you dare to try this trend? After all, life in plastic, it’s fantastic.
It is sometimes quite hard to take care of our hair as it can be a long and complicated process to finally be able to style it and take care of it. That is why we wrote an article below on one of the hair routines you can adopt for the summer.
When it is hot, whether you have long hair or short hair, it is always difficult to find hairstyles that will allow you to not to sweat too much and feel comfortable while remaining stylish. In addition, when we are on vacation, sometimes we feel lazy and wish to give our hair a break from our straightener or curler.
Here are three hairstyles easy to try for the holidays, depending on what you are planning to do during the day. It can be for a morning at the beach, an afternoon stroll by the sea and an evening at a restaurant with friends.
Top knot will be your best friend. There is nothing more easy and comfortable than this hairstyle. But you can also enjoy the fact that your hair is wavy from the sea air to do an half-do messy bun, a classic hairstyle that will remain as one of our favourites.
The braids are one of the big trends of this year. It is not possible that you missed on Instagram that it is the hairstyle to adopt this summer.
For an evening out, after the shower, you can go for a little bit more sophisticated hairstyle and try to do a bohemian braided bun. This simple but elegant hairstyle will allow you to be the most beautiful during your evening out.
You can add to your hair any kind of accessories: headbands, headscarves or flowers. Be fancy and dare while you are on vacation.
Hair is mistreated during summer because of the sun, sea water and chlorinated swimming pool water. That is why you need to protect them as much as you can, with scarves, caps and hats. Not only it will allow you to have a trendy look at the beach, but it will also be really useful to protect your hair from the UV rays. You need to remember that the sun does the same damages to your skin as it does to your hair.
Different tips exist in order for you to take care of your hair all year round, but especially during the summer. You really need to build up a routine that will prevent your hair from being dry and brittle.
Use sun proof protection shampoo. As we said it, it is like your skin, so don’t hesitate to apply that kind of products regularly. If you can avoid to wet your hair into the sea or the pool, do it, same for washing them. The more you will wash your hair, the more it will be greasy. But when you are taking a shower, apply a good conditioner. Most importantly, do nourishing cares. Whether they are home-made or not, they will pigment and reinforce your hair.
Oil treatments will be your dearest friends. Coco, argan, aloe vera, you can mix plenty of ingredients together to do masks. Also, remember that everything is related to your diet. The more you will eat aliments that are rich in nutrients, the more your skin and hair will glow. Avocado, salmon, almonds have omega 3 in it that will allow your hair to feel and look better.
Let your hair dryer and straightener at home. Your hair must take a break from the heat. There are a lot of hairstyles to do that are trendy. Wavy beach hair and braids are one of the easiest and most successful hairstyles to adopt.
We don’t realize all the side effects the environment we are living in has on our body. Be sure that you will use all the possible ingredients to make you feel comfortable in your own body.
Take care of your skin, your hair. Take care of yourself.
May has started well with a bank holiday to celebrate the International Workers’ Day. But it’s not because now we are working that we cannot think about our future trip to a dream destination. And because we want to be as organised as we are at the office, we like to plan things in advance. Thus, once our tickets are booked, we only need to think about what do we have to pack.
Girls always bring more than necessary. It is not a cliché. But we also often forget important things. Here, you will find a list of what you should buy to put into your vanity to be prepared to face a hard day on the sand facing the sea with only the sound of waves and seagulls.
A perfect vanity should not be too full. Think practical. Think about what you will need at the beach but also afterwards, when visiting and going out at night. We don’t use the same products during holidays than during our daily life. Our beauty routine changes because our habits and the environment we are in are different.
An important product not to forget is sunscreen. It is important to take care of your skin and avoid as much as possible damages. We don’t always realize the power of the sun on our body, that is why it is also important to bring an aftersun lotion that you will have to apply every day after your shower. You can also exfoliate your skin to peel off the dead skin, your tan will stay long after this.
If you go to the beach, you don’t necessarily wear makeup. We all like having makeup-free days, a natural complexion with beach waves hair. But for the people who still want to wear some makeup, look for a waterproof mascara, especially if you go for a swim and don’t want it to smudge under your eyes. Remember that alcohol and sun are not a good combination. If you want to wear perfume, find a selection that is alcohol-free. Otherwise, your skin will be irritated and itchy.
Lip balm is a must, with or without sunproof protection. You can also do lip scrub to take care of this sensitive part of your body that can also take sunburn. Finally, to accessorize your look, bring colourful nail polish, like red and coral. It always looks good with a nice tan on.
Your vanity is now ready to be put into your suitcase. Next step: holidays.
Easter came and no one skipped the traditional egg hunt. Children and adults have loved eating chocolate; some might have done more than others. While we enjoyed it way too much in Barcelona with the famous Mona de Pascua without feeling guilty, the sunny days are coming back. So the main question that is ringing in our head is: will my swimsuit still fit me?
To prepare our summer body, there is nothing better than doing outdoors activities, whether it is by yourself or in a team. The undeniable advantage for the people living in Barcelona, or for the lucky visitors, is that no matter the physical activity practised, they will always benefit from an incredible view or incredible sites to visit: a great source of motivation.
Whether you would prefer to run, cycle or hike, you will find plenty of places to go to such as the famous Barceloneta and the Passeig Maritim. There is nothing more pleasant than doing sports while feeling the sea breeze in your hair. However, as it is quite crowded in the summer, do not hesitate to look for paths in the heights of Barcelona. Montjuic is a great area thanks to its many green areas, parks and gardens. You will enjoy the view as much as if you want to go to Carretera de les Aigües.
If you want to exercise with other people, there is still that easy option where you can just go to the beach and play volleyball. But for the people who want to try local activities, they should try the Padel tennis, a sport imported from Argentina but well-known here in Catalonia.
Outdoor yoga is also a great outdoor activity to practice in the Parc de la Ciutadella, near the Arc de Triomf with its fountain and its green areas. Again, it can be crowded and as yoga is supposed to help you to relax, do not hesitate to visit any park around you, they will all be as beautiful and some will surely be more peaceful than others. You can also go to the Serra de la Collsorella a natural park full of history.
Doing outdoor activities will allow you to enjoy the city, discover new places and new people that share your passion. With its 5km of coastline, Barcelona has a wide variety of places you will not know if you don’t wander in the streets. But wherever you are in the world, just remind yourself that it’s important to go outside. It is good for your body and your mind.
That’s also what tourism is: discovering the city without any precise goal.

A day on the beach is not only a whole lot of fun but also incredibly good for your body if you act responsibly.
Preparing for a whole day at the beach? Make sure to toss these Beach Day Essentials into your beach bag!
# TOTE BAG
There is a lot of Beach Day Essentials to carry when spending a day on the beach, but there is nothing you cannot fit in a canvas tote bag. You also do not need to worry of it getting ruined if it gets a tad damp or wet. It is the perfect go-to bag for the beach!
# BEACH TOWEL
Never go to the beach without a towel and if you are feeling extra generous, take your massive beach towel and save the few that forgot to bring one. You will be able to fit around 3-4 friends at least to have a great chat by the sea or just listen to music and work on your tan.
This is quite the no-brainier if you are aware that you are going to be spending all the day on the beach, so always apply AND REAPPLY. Even though most of us do head to the beach to work on getting that tan, but skimping on the sun protection is not the way to go. You can find sunscreens with appropriate protection and instant bronzers so there is no excuse.
# STYLISH SUNNIES & A HAT
Even if you do apply sunscreen, your face is still going to need that extra protection. The bigger, the better protected, so do not be shy to wear those massive sunglasses and big floppy hat. It is a cute and stylish way of avoiding the bright red nose and cheek bones.
Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate!
Tanning and swimming for the day is bound to leave you parched, so make sure to take your water flask along with you to have cool water available whenever you will need some.
Always take a bunch of snacks to the beach with you. Something like cool mixed fruit, salads, some healthy granola bars and so on. This is ideal if you plan on staying at the beach for longer than 3 hours, to ensure that you will be full and happy on your well-needed beach day.
Lifeguards and swimsuit models have it way easier than the rest of us that work in an office – The struggle on deciding what to wear in these bipolar weather conditions is real!
Here are a few tricks to keep in mind.
#1 BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS
Never go too bare. Always be aware of the environment you are working in and stay within its boundaries. If you are a business professional attending one meeting to another, think loose and keep covered. You can never go wrong with a light loose blouse, some breezy midi skirt, and a pair of comfy court shoes. It is super important that you do not undermine your professionalism with your choice of clothes.
#2 CREATIVE START-UPS/ CREATIVE FREELANCER
When it comes to creative work places it is acceptable to bare a little skin. Maybe a sleeveless top, palazzo pants or a shirt dress to be able to survive the warmer months. Additionally, if you are that creative freelancer, such outfit ideas will make the running round town a tad more bearable. However, still do keep in mind that plunging necklines, peek midriffs and rising hems are always considered inappropriate for work.
It may be hard to welcome the summer season with open arms whilst still needing to look internship-appropriate. Try go for something youthful but appropriate. Something like a vibrant patterned blouse, breezy pants, and flats and maybe some casual jewelry. It is good to keep in mind though, that unless you have been informed ahead about the office’s dress code it would be a good idea to dress up formally for the beginning.
ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT RULES TO ABIDE BY WHEN IT COMES TO DRESSING UP FOR THE OFFICE – IF YOU WOULD WEAR IT TO THE BEACH IT IS A DEFINITE NO-GO !
