What to pack for a mid-season week-end in Barcelona by Admin

Forget your triple layer winter coat if you travel to Barcelona during the mid-season. Here you will find the best tips to enjoy your stay as much as you can while, hopefully, remaining stylish.

One thing to take into consideration is to travel light. And if your aim is to visit the city from A to Z in just a weekend: think practical. You will always look more pretty on pictures with a casual and comfortable look than with a look that will not allow you to smile because your too hot, too cold or because your shoes make you want to cry.

What to pack for a mid-season week-end in Barcelona

That is why a pair of sneakers is always a good idea, you can bring your high-heels but keep them for the night if you plan to go out. Then, never forget the basics. A trench, a cardigan or a leather jacket is enough. For the bottom, just bring some jeans. Barcelona is not only a synonym of sun and party at the beach, you never know what the weather holds. That is why it can be tricky to travel during the mid-season because the weather is constantly changing, thus, temperatures are never the same. A sweater or light jacket is essential and you can wear a breathable t-shirt underneath it to stay comfortable.

Don’t be afraid to let your creativity speaks to keep you warm: mix fabrics, put a scarf on… but remember that packing heavy clothes is not a good idea as you will have to take them on/off every time you enter to a restaurant, a coffee shop, a museum.

What to pack for a mid-season week-end in Barcelona.

Now that you have all the information needed, stop looking desperately at your suitcase wondering whether you need your sunglasses or your umbrella, just take them both and be ready to enjoy the city’s best places.

10 tips for walking in high-heels by Admin

Marilyn used to sing that “Diamonds are the girls’ best friends”, this is far from being wrong. However, we must not forget our other best friends which are high heels. Indeed, wearing those can instantly make you taller, more graceful, more slender and so many other positive things. But you need to be careful as your second best friend can suddenly turn into your worst nightmare if you do not know how to tame them, and here is how to do so:

  1. Put the heels that you can handle: If this is your first trial, please do not set the bar too high. For beginners, I recommend you wear wedge heels. As you will get used to those, little by little, change your wedges for stacked heels and then for stilettos if you feel up to doing so.
  2. Use platform shoes: If you are not really comfy with high heels, medium height heels will be enough to have a positive impact on your appearance.
  3. Avoid pain: Always have band-aids with you and put them on before you get blisters, in prevention. You can also buy stuffed soles to soften your steps.

10 tips for walking in high heels

4. First the ball, then, the heel: To get as steady as possible, you need to be careful to not put your whole foot on the ground at the same time.

5. Slow Down: Leave few minutes earlier than necessary to be able to slow down your rhythm if needed without being in a hurry and risking a broken leg.

6. Use your weight wisely: To avoid your heels to get stuck between the cobbles, try to put your weight on the ball of your foot.

7. Take little breaks: Allow yourself to take a little break whenever you want to. And when doing so, just admire the landscape and the streets, you may be surprised!

10 tips for walking in high heels

8. Anticipate: Look at the cobbles which are one or two meters far from you and identify the safest part of the road for your heels.

9. Keep calm: It is completely worthless to insult the road or to beg it to let you pass. It won’t work. All you have to do is to stay calm and keep on moving until you finally got to destination, be brave!

10. Walk on the less damaged part of the streets: You should better walk at the edge of the streets because normally, they should be less damaged and therefore more negotiable.

Bonus: Forget everything I’ve just said and find some friends or a boyfriend nice enough to help and support you or even to carry you after hours of suffering.

Interaction between music and fashion by Admin

People can hardly imagine their life without music as it accompanies almost every sphere of life.  Through the years, music has been the center of inspiration for various artists and its impact can be seen in pieces of art of different times. As well as sculptors, painters and writers, designers also often find their “muse” in musical compositions.

Music creates idols people want to follow and look like. Each type of music also represents some ideology and values, so very often we can guess the type of music person likes according to ones` appearance.

Jazz

In 1920, the popularity of jazz brought to fashion “bobbed” hairstyles, which were not only a mark of rebellion but also a practical style for the popular dance music. Dresses became shorter to reflect the ability to move freely while dancing. Jazz fashion reflected elegance, style and creativity.

Heavy metal

The biker, rocker and leather subcultures are associated with heavy metal. One of the main idols is considered to be Rob Halford, who wore a leather costume on stage in 1978 to coincide with the promotion for the Killing Machine. His look involved combat boots, studded belts and bracelets, bullet belts, spiked gauntlets etc.

 Country

Country music popularized the simplicity. Country talks about singer`s hometown and tracks, so country singers wear practical plaid shirts and cowboy boots, which are considered to be a must for a country singer.

Glam Rock

Glam Rock reached its peak in the mid of 1970s. The main drivers of this style were T.Rex, David Bowie, Sweet, Roxy Music and Gary Glitter. It influenced a lot on the formation of gothic rock which was informed by the bright make-up, clothes, theatricality and sound. Designers took an inspiration from the performances costumes. Glam rock combined various styles but its main distinguishing features are outrageous clothes, makeup, hairstyles and platform boots.

 interaction-between-music-and-fashion

Even though it is in our nature to follow the common trend, modern people are being much less influenced by the music stars style as it used to be, however, music cultures still influence an individual`s fashion trends to a certain extend. Today a lot of people can disapprove the statement: “You are what you listen to”.

Nowadays, trousers are something we wear on a regular basis. But can you imagine that back in the 20th century women were wearing only skirts. Coco Chanel was the first women who started to wear trousers.

THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS

6 Things You Can Thank Coco Chanel For

The little black dress is always a thing. This is something we would wear to a date or to work, or even for a fancy event. It is something that probably every girl has in her wardrobe. Guess who we should thank for that simple, but fabulous outfit? – Coco Chanel.

What does the color say? by Admin

We all know that every color has a particular psychological meaning, but we do not think about that when creating our look. Usually, we just wear something we like or feel comfortable in not thinking about the fact that the color spectrum of the outfit we’ve chosen might give a wrong message about us or even TALK inappropriate.

CM decided to give you several tips about when and where better to wear the most popular colors.

Black

What does the color say?

Classic black has so many faces and meanings. Usually people find it as a depressing color. We could definitely say NO to that. Black at the same time represent power and elegance, discipline and mystery.

When thinking what to wear to a job interview, black might me a good choice.

White

What does the color say?

This simple color represents so many things: Purity, cleanliness, safety, strength, peace. But try to combine it with another color in your outfit. Too much white can project coldness and isolation.

BTW, white is also a great option for a job interview. People more likely to trust those, who wear white.

Red

What does the color say?

We all know that if you want to attract attention, wear red. It represents passion, power, energy. Wear red when you want to be assertive, need an energy boost or exude sexuality.

Blue

What does the color say?

This color can represent so many things depending on the shade.

Generally, blue represents authority, structure, communication, dependability, trust and loyalty.

However, some shades can project coldness. Wear blue whenever you are going to communicate with new people and they will definitely treat you with lots of respect.

Pink

What does the color say?

The color of love. Represent affection and serenity. But be accurate with this color. People are likely not to take seriously those who wear lots of pink.

Green

What does the color say?

Green represents security, abundance, growth and luck. But be very accurate with shades of Green. CM would advise you to wear dark green or grass green.

Wear green whenever you feel calm.

Yellow

What does the color say?

The color of sun. It represents happiness, freedom, optimism. Yellow is a great choice if you don’t want to become depressed during a rainy day.

CM advises you to use the colors to make a great impression and desired effect.

#1   BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS

Never go too bare. Always be aware of the environment you are working in and stay within its boundaries. If you are a business professional attending one meeting to another, think loose and keep covered. You can never go wrong with a light loose blouse, some breezy midi skirt, and a pair of comfy court shoes. It is super important that you do not undermine your professionalism with your choice of clothes.

#2   CREATIVE START-UPS/ CREATIVE FREELANCER

When it comes to creative work places it is acceptable to bare a little skin. Maybe a sleeveless top, palazzo pants or a shirt dress to be able to survive the warmer months. Additionally, if you are that creative freelancer, such outfit ideas will make the running round town a tad more bearable. However, still do keep in mind that plunging necklines, peek midriffs and rising hems are always considered inappropriate for work.

#3   INTERNSHIPS

It may be hard to welcome the summer season with open arms whilst still needing to look internship-appropriate. Try go for something youthful but appropriate. Something like a vibrant patterned blouse, breezy pants, and flats and maybe some casual jewelry. It is good to keep in mind though, that unless you have been informed ahead about the office’s dress code it would be a good idea to dress up formally for the beginning.

I my self are really exited for this Fashion event in Barcelona. The fashion market is something I definitely will pay a visit to, hoping to find something nice to extend my summer wardrobe with. When it comes to the fashion shows and brands MIQUEL SUAY is one that caught my eye with their beautiful wedding dresses. Others are MARIA ROCH and GEMA SACH, two brands with more casual clothing. I really like the patterns of the GEMA SACH clothing. One particular item that i also like is TORRAS leather shirt. Lastly, I am really looking forward to see the shows of TEXELL MIRAS and BRAIN&BEAST, two brands that really thinks outside the box.

Best outfits at the Billboard Music Awards 2017 by Admin

On May 21st the annual Billboard Music Awards took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The Billboard Music Award is an honour given by Billboard, the publication and music popularity chart that covers the music industry. This year’s event was hosted by nobody less than Drake. At the same time he was awarded 13 of those golden microphones. Famous artists like Nicki Minaj, Céline Dion, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus and Jason Derulo performed on stage during the event.
An award show is the perfect celebrity gathering to show off the most amazing fashion styles. As much as I love and respect the music industry, the attendees’ styles and fashion excite me even more. These are my personal favourite outfits of the night.

CELINE DION

Céline Dion celebrated the 20th anniversary of her song, “My Heart Will Go On,” by performing the classic hit from inside a chandelier that hung from the venue’s ceiling. Her performance astonished all the guests and was followed by a standing ovation.
Her state-of-the art couture dress designed by Stephane Roland has white long sleeves, a floor length gown, satin shoulders and a plunging neckline. Céline looks elegant but sober and I think it does her perfect performance all the more credit.

CAMILA CABELLO

Camila Cabello did not only make her debut as a solo artist while performing on the Billboard Music Awards but also stole the show with her stunning looks. She claimed her place in the spotlights with her red Latina sequin dress covered with lace details. This dress is part of the pre-fall collection from Jonathan Simkai.

She performed the first single of her upcoming album, The Hurting, the Healing, the Loving, called “Crying in the Club”.

HAILEE STEINFELD

Actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld brought sparkles to the Billboard Music Awards with her shining silver metal dress designed by David Koma.

The Pitch Perfect star chose the Georgian designer’s see-through dress with black undergarments, high stiletto boots and black nail polish. She looked absolutely untameable in this sci-fi animal print piece. Her smoky eyes finished the whole loose animal look.
