Summer 2019: Hair accessories and how to wear them by Admin

Do you remember Blair Waldorf impeccable hair accessories?

Well, if you don’t, just know that this badass character from the Gossip Girl series was rocking stunning hairstyles. And, even if we cannot exactly pinpoint when they became trendy, hair accessories are here to stay with the summer around the corner for easy and fresh hairdos.

And YES, bows and barrettes are also for grown women!

Decorative bobby pins

Probably the easiest way to accessorize your hair and surely the funniest. You can let your imagination guide you and create your own style by arranging the bobby pins the way you want. You can create patterns in your hair and design amazing styles. You can also play with the volume of your hair and put them either at the base of your hair line to ensure a spotless slick hair back style, put them to hold locks of hair, or, organize them for the perfect sided hairstyle. In addition, this year, the trend is pearly, strass and metallic which bring a unique touch to your look for any occasion, but you can also go for more discreet bobby pins. In the end, they are both stylish AND practical… What else to ask for, right?sans-titre

Word barrettes

Forget your graphic tees and all that you thought you knew before, THIS is the trend to follow these days! Just take a look at the examples below to see how cool they are! They are perfect for simple and practical (as for the bobby pins) hairdo for the upcoming festival summer days.

Headbands

Who said we were done with headbands after middle school?

They are perfect for the summer to prevent your hair from annoy you all day long and they are super stylish (Blair Waldorf was a visionary). And from simple headscarves to puffy headbands, you will recognize your style in the wide range of this must-have accessory of the summer.

Honorable mention: the black headband hairstyle is never out of fashion and all its shapes and all its way to be worn makes it the ultimate fashion accessory that everyone should have, not only for this summer.

Hair barrettes and clips

Hair barrettes and clips are ideal for a casual look. Definitely easy to fashion and as for the bobby pins, they can be pull out in different ways. This year, we particularly love pearls and barrettes make no exception, however, don’t hesitate to play with colors and volumes for an even better result.

Larger ones will be used to tight the hair behind the head and smaller ones can be used to pin smaller locks of hair elsewhere on the head and they have the advantage to be decorative and, let’s be honest, they are kind of cute. In the end, they are perfect to complete a summer look.

Scrunchies and headscarves

What’s more summery than putting nice pieces of fabric in your hair to tie it properly and dodge the heat?

Well, nothing’s better than a good old scrunchy or headscarf with nice patterns to reach the ultimate summer look. Although very casual, these hair accessories offer a variety of style, from ponytails to messy buns. Eventually, they will make your look more original and fresher!

At Capture Models, we absolutely love that hair accessories are back in trend for this summer and we can’t wait to try them all. If you are looking for more inspiration for your look, we recommend spending time on social media, particularly Pinterest, where you will find much more looks to get ideas from.

Spring 2019: the trend is Yellow by Admin

It seems like designers all agree this time and from runways to prêt-à-porter collections, yellow is THE trend of the Spring 2019.

In order, form left to right: Jacquemus, Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, Brandon Maxwell, Carolina Herrera, Max Mara, Etro, Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta.

sans-titre-4

The bright color makes its big breakthrough and is a must-have of this spring. You can bet on summer dresses, blouses, shoes or other accessories to brighten up your wardrobe.

However, wearing yellow can be challenging. You have to be careful matching the right shade of yellow with your skin tone and hair color. For instance, if you are rather light-skinned with blond hair, you might want to go for a pale or pastel yellow while if you have dark hair and a rather dark skin, go for a sunny yellow or saffron!

The advantage of yellow is that you can basically wear it everywhere, from a casual street style with a matching pair of mom jeans for example to a classy yellow blazers with killer heels.

Not sure how to start wearing yellow? Our advice is to start small with accessories adding a nice color touch to your outfit, then when you feel more comfortable you can start wearing bigger yellow pieces and even go for the full yellow look.

Quotes to remember from Karl Lagerfeld by Admin

One week ago, the fashion world lost one of the most era-defining designer of the 20th and 21st centuries: Karl Lagerfeld.

Famous for its work at the French House, Chanel, where he has been the creative director for nearly 36 years, releasing 6 collections a year and outstandingly taking over the legacy of Coco Chanel, he is also known his bold opinions and straightforward yet wise statements.

To pay tribute to this irreplaceable fashion figure, we gathered some memorable Lagerfeld’s quotes.

karl-lagerfeld-passed-away-chanel-man-repeller-feature-1-final

On himself

“I am a black diamond, unfaceted. Black diamonds are rare, hard to cut, and therefore uncommercial.”

“I have no human feelings.”

“I am a sort of vampire, taking the blood of other people.”

“I am a living label. My name is Labelfeld not Lagerfeld.”

“I am a kind of fashion nymphomaniac who never gets an orgasm.”

On being controversial

“I hate double-talk. If I say something unkind about people, it’s when they’ve done something to me, however long ago, which in my opinion gives me the right to have a go at them for fun whenever I like.”

On designing

“When you hear designers complaining about the challenge of their profession, you have to say: don’t get carried away—it’s only dresses.”

On nostalgia

“There is nothing worse than bringing up the ‘good old days.’ To me, that’s the ultimate acknowledgment of failure.”

karl-lagerfeld-in-paris-1954-vogue-11may16-getty_b

On selfies

“They are this horrible thing where you are distorted. The chin is too big, the head is too small. No, this is electronic masturbation.”

On self-image

“To think appearances don’t count these days is a lie: it lets you live in harmony with yourself.”

“Vanity is the healthiest thing in life.”

On style

“Summer clothes that are rumpled or relaxed drive me mad. I loathe ‘rumpledness,’ if I can put it that way. It’s okay between the ages of 25 and 30, but unfortunately after that it’s dreadful. I hate people in the street who look like they’ve raided their grandchildren’s wardrobe.”

“Don’t dress to kill, dress to survive.”

On Coco Chanel

“What I do Coco would have hated. The label has an image and it’s up to me to update it. I do what she never did. I had to find my mark. I had to go from what Chanel was to what it should be, could be, what it had been to something else.”

lagerfeld-bear

On his sunglasses

“They’re my burka… I’m a little shortsighted, and people, when they’re shortsighted, they remove their glasses and then they look like cute little dogs who want to be adopted.”

On luxury

“You have to live your life according to your ideas. Spend all your money and live life in line with what you are fighting for. I hate it when rich people try to be Communists. I think that’s obscene.”

On men

“I get along with everyone except for men my age, who are bourgeois or retired or boring.”

On solitude

“I live in a set, with the curtains of the stage closed with no audience – but who cares?”

On the world

“We live in a dark and romantic and quite tragic world.”

On weddings

“Normally, I don’t recommend me for wedding dresses – they all get a divorce.”

On life

“When I was younger I wanted to be a caricaturist. In the end, I’ve become a caricature.”

images

On money

“If you throw money out of the window throw it out with joy. Don’t say: ‘one shouldn’t do that’ – that is bourgeois.”

On his legacy

“I’ve always known that I was made to live this way, that I would be this sort of legend.”

On his inimitable image

“I am like a caricature of myself, and I like that. It is like a mask. And for me the Carnival of Venice lasts all year long.”

On being childless

“They grow so fast, and having adult children makes you look 100 years old. I don’t want that.”

On interview etiquette

“I had an interview once with some German journalist – some horrible ugly woman. It was in the early days after the communists – maybe a week after – and she wore a yellow sweater that was kind of see-through. She had huge tits and a huge black bra, and she said to me: ‘It’s impolite; remove your glasses.’ I said: ‘Do I ask you to remove your bra?'”

On fame

“You cannot fight against it. There’s a price you have to pay for fame, and people who don’t want to pay that price can get in trouble. I accepted the idea of celebrity because of a French expression: ‘You cannot have the butter and the money for the butter.'”

On intellectual conversation

“That’s exactly what I am. As a child I wanted to be a grown-up. I wanted to know everything – not that I like to talk about it. I hate intellectual conversation with intellectuals because I only care about my opinion.”

On TV

“I don’t go to movie theatres because I don’t want to be photographed by strangers. People bother me wherever I go. I like to imagine the world my way. I don’t want second-rate images of the world.”

karl-lagerfeld-choupette

If you want to find more about Karl Lagerfeld, we recommend the book The World According to Karl: the Wit and Wisdom of Karl Lagerfeld, a recollection of his statements on fashion, women, art, politics, love, and life high and low.

Rest In Peace, Karl.

Holiday Gift Guide by Admin

Christmas lights have been turned on in the streets of Barcelona and furry, warm jackets and scarves have made a comeback after last winter. We still haven’t opened the first window of Christmas calendars, but it is not too early to start wrapping those Christmas presents already now. That way you’re able to dedicate the weeks before Christmas Eve to ginger bread, mulled wine and just making it cosy at home. Everyone has been in that stressful situation and bought presents in the very last minute, so our advice is to avoid the bustle and prepare Christmas presents early this year. In this way you can enjoy the Christmas feeling without stressing in the shops.

Today we want to share some inspiration for your Christmas shopping. In the collages under you’ll find even more ideas! Write your picks down in the shopping lists and you’ll know exactly what you’re looking for for your loved ones. Let’s start with the girly favourites!

makeup

A red lipstick or nail polish is perfect for Christmas time but can also be used throughout the year. That’s a present that will colour up every girl’s day and there are both cheaper and more worthy options available, which will suit for every wallet. If you feel like dark red doesn’t fit your girlfriend or sister, choose lighter tones or the other Christmas colours gold or green. Beauty stores have made it so easy to give away cosmetics and skin care products as present. Almost every make up store has prepared gift packages that include different matching products wrapped in a beautiful box. It couldn’t be simpler to shop a Christmas gift for anyone! The only difficulty might be choosing since there are so many gorgeous options! If her make up bag is already completely full, head to the accessory department. You can look for fashionable scarves or gloves that aren’t only pretty but also necessary in the frosty winter weather. If you know her style well, you can even choose a nice bag, necklace or pair of shoes to hide under the Christmas tree.

practicalstuff

If you want to be sure that your present won’t be laying in drawers unused, you can buy something practical for everyday life. Gifts for home are great during winter when we spend a lot more time indoors. That gift could be new high-quality headphones that a friend couldn’t afford himself. Or a smoothie machine for someone who always stops by at the cafés for some berry power. You could buy soft blankets or fluffy slippers to make hanging at home even cosier. Maybe your friend likes to be super organised or just tends to forget everything and you can buy a planner for 2019 to put his/hers new year in order. You can even prepare your friend for New Year’s Eve celebrations and give a pretty pack of champagne glasses.

experiences

I saved my personal favourite gift last and that is giving an experience as a Christmas present. It is a great feeling to give a present box and delight a friend with something material but most of us wouldn’t actually need the things. That’s why, I love giving presents that everyone will appreciate and be excited about; quality time. Of course, this present must be well planned to match the personality of the lucky one. But fortunately, there is a countless number of alternatives, so you’ll find something for everyone for sure. A spa day would be a perfect present for a friend who has been working a lot lately. An adventurous sibling would be thrilled to try out extreme sports like bungee jumping or diving. A visit to an escape room is for those who love to solve mysteries. A wine tasting for a wine lover, shopping tour for a shopaholic or a ticket to a favourite band’s concert. And who wouldn’t like a nice evening in a good restaurant? The list goes on and on and that is the reason I love giving (and getting) these unforgettable presents.

Didn’t you find anything from this list for the one you wanted to surprise? Behind this link you can read our gift ideas for Valentine’s day – some of them are perfect Christmas presents as well!

How about you, have you already started Christmas shopping?

When you are a fashion freak or you just want to look good and trendy, it’s good to look for inspirations in many different places. Nowadays, the most popular source is undoubtedly the Internet. Tumblr or Pinterest are only a few of the sites where to find the perfect outfit examples. There are plenty of fashion related profiles on Facebook or Instagram and hashtags like #fashion or #ootd that have been tagged over a few million times.  YouTube is also a platform where you will find thousands of tips how to look up to the date and as fashionable as possible.

In this overload of information you can easily get lost or tired and finally, you won’t know what to wear at all.  So we have a proposition for you. Take a deep breath and go for a walk around your city, because we can’t forget that still, one of the best places to find inspirations are streets of a metropolis. Barcelona can be defined as a city which is blooming with diversity, multiculturalism and really good taste in fashion.

Today Capture Models Team decided to explore the capital of Catalonia in order to find some trendy and unique outfits, asking people of their sources of fashion influences.

Elena is 25 years old and she came to Barcelona from Venezuela. Her style is quite modern, yet laid back. You can also spot some vintage influence in her styling. Biggest fashion inspiration? Cindy Crawford and her classy stilizations!

Catalina is 19 years old and comes from Chile. We met her at the beloved skateboarder’s meeting spot near MACBA. She wasn’t really sure what inspires her, but without any doubt we can say that Catalina is really into skater girl scene. Just take a look!

Corenne is 26 years old and on daily basis lives in Switzerland. We met her at the entrance of the vintage shop in Raval district since she immediately grabbed our attention. Oversized white T-shirt is surely the key element of her outfit and it looks simply perfect with her modern, yet throwback-to-90’s Nike sneakers! When she needs some inspirations she always checks them on Instagram.

How to take a good picture by Admin

One of the primary purposes of photography is to allow us to relive the beautiful moments of our life. Time passes by, memory fades but souvenirs persist, thanks to the photos we take.

We all like to capture the moments of our life that seem beautiful, whether it is a place or an encounter. But when we do it, we must do it for ourselves and because it makes us happy to remember these memories. Not for others. Nowadays, especially because of social media, far too many people don’t live for themselves anymore and do not take the time to observe and enjoy the beauty of what Nature has to offer.

How to take a good picture

Our smartphones are glued to our hands and our first reflex is to take a snap or an Instagram story. While, taking a picture is, first, asking ourselves which spot is the most beautiful one. We need to observe and take the picture with our eyes.

Then, therefore, we can look for the light, a natural one preferably, that will make the picture look better. There is also a good time for the so-called Instagram pictures, like sunrises or sunset. Do not hesitate to move, to have shots from different angles. Get closer to the object, the person to photograph or use a lens attachment on your phone. Do not hesitate to play with the subjects, the elements but also with the weather. Not only a portrait on a white background or a sun and a blue sky that will make a photo look pretty.

How to take a good picture

Keep the photo as original as possible, you don’t need to add many filters. Remember that it is pointless to flood your Instagram with photos without real purpose since taking a nice picture means taking a picture that has a sense for you, and only you.

The season of cocktails with your friends, family and colleagues has started and the main topic of every discussion concerns the holidays and where you should go this year. Discord, misunderstanding, incomprehension, nobody can agree on the destination but the clock is ticking and the holidays are approaching so you should hurry up. The previous article prompted you to prepare your trip in advance in order for you not getting overwhelmed by the events and enjoy the best deals. Here, you will find the best destinations in Europe for those who would like to travel on a budget.

Whether you want to backpack, camp or simply stay in a hotel, some destinations in Europe are cheaper than others. Europe is not only cities like Paris or London: destinations that are expensive, especially due to their popularity towards tourists. Think about countries you would have never think about and that are so underrated but as beautiful and pleasant as the others.

Where to travel in Europe on a budget

Here are 5 budget European destinations:

– Poland, Krakow.  There, you will enjoy long walks around the Wisla river and in the Medieval core of the historical city. There is plenty of affordable cafés and restaurants to go to and free city tours to enjoy. The streets are enchanting and you can discover multiple beautiful areas when wandering the streets just like the well-known Jewish district.

– Budapest, Hungary. Everyone knows this country because of the Sziget festival. But you can also go there to walk along the Danube and enjoy the Ottoman architecture from the cheap cruises. Furthermore, did you know that it is called the city of spas?  So everyone who goes there must enjoy the thermal bath at least once.

– Zagreb, Croatia. This country is getting more and more popular, as it is not expensive. In the heart of Croatia’s modern culture, you will be able to enjoy the medieval style of the streets, the beautifulness of the buildings and cathedrals.

– Andalucia, Spain. This region branded as a historical nationality has a mix of Spanish and Arabic style. There, you can enjoy cheap beers, tapas as well as a magnificent architecture. If you feel a little be adventurous you can take the ferry to Morrocco; it is not so far.

– Lisbon, Portugal. This place is one of the best watersport destinations and it is the paradise for the people who love seafood.  There are also some free festivals during the summer you can enjoy.

Where to travel in Europe on a budget

This article is only a short resume. You need to go there to see by yourself what these cities have to offer. Their common point is that they are all marked with a past, a heritage and a history that allows them today to benefit from amazing architecture, museums, buildings and excellent traditional restaurants.

How to travel on a budget by Admin

Who never said one day: my dream is to travel all around the world? But once you have taken a look at your bank account you just changed your mind and buried that idea in a corner of your head hoping that one day you will have the necessary nest-egg to do it.

We all would like to travel the world, alone or with people. But this kind of happiness has a price and sometimes we cannot afford to go as far and as long as we would like to. Whether you are a student or an adult, sometimes you have a tight budget and that is why you have to postpone your desire to escape.

How to travel on a budget

Travelling is going on a journey to discover new lands, new civilizations, new cultures and new ways of living. To immerse ourselves in the local culture, there is nothing better than trying to live like an autochthone. Indeed, not everybody can afford the all-inclusive hotel. So here are some tips to go abroad without breaking the bank and enjoy as much as possible a trip with friends or family.

Organisation is the watchword. The only way to compare prices and benefit from the most advantageous offers is to plan your trip in advance. To do so, some well-known websites exist, whatever it is to book a flight or a hotel such as liligo.com, jetcost.com, edreams.com, booking.com. But depending on your destination check what is more interesting, to take a flight, a train or a bus? Alternatives always exist, some will take you longer to get to your destination but it would usually be cheaper. When it comes to accommodations, think about Airbnb or hostels. But if you feel adventurous you can also couchsurfing. It is an easy way to travel as you will have a stay for free and as you will directly meet the locals.

How to travel on a budget

Wherever you will go, you will always find good places to eat and visit on a budget, just do your research before you leave. Thus, you may avoid the crowd of tourists and the most expensive places. Remember that if you are under 25 and you are still a student, you will have more benefits, like free museums or vouchers. You can also go abroad to work as an au pair or seasonal worker.

Travelling is being organised, a little bit creative and reckless. Then you will see, the trip will only be better.

A healthy mind in a healthy body by Admin

Easter came and no one skipped the traditional egg hunt. Children and adults have loved eating chocolate; some might have done more than others. While we enjoyed it way too much in Barcelona with the famous Mona de Pascua without feeling guilty, the sunny days are coming back. So the main question that is ringing in our head is: will my swimsuit still fit me?

To prepare our summer body, there is nothing better than doing outdoors activities, whether it is by yourself or in a team. The undeniable advantage for the people living in Barcelona, or for the lucky visitors, is that no matter the physical activity practised, they will always benefit from an incredible view or incredible sites to visit: a great source of motivation.

Whether you would prefer to run, cycle or hike, you will find plenty of places to go to such as the famous Barceloneta and the Passeig Maritim. There is nothing more pleasant than doing sports while feeling the sea breeze in your hair. However, as it is quite crowded in the summer, do not hesitate to look for paths in the heights of Barcelona. Montjuic is a great area thanks to its many green areas, parks and gardens. You will enjoy the view as much as if you want to go to Carretera de les Aigües.

A healthy mind in a healthy body

If you want to exercise with other people, there is still that easy option where you can just go to the beach and play volleyball. But for the people who want to try local activities, they should try the Padel tennis, a sport imported from Argentina but well-known here in Catalonia.

Outdoor yoga is also a great outdoor activity to practice in the Parc de la Ciutadella, near the Arc de Triomf with its fountain and its green areas. Again, it can be crowded and as yoga is supposed to help you to relax, do not hesitate to visit any park around you, they will all be as beautiful and some will surely be more peaceful than others. You can also go to the Serra de la Collsorella a natural park full of history.

Doing outdoor activities will allow you to enjoy the city, discover new places and new people that share your passion. With its 5km of coastline, Barcelona has a wide variety of places you will not know if you don’t wander in the streets. But wherever you are in the world, just remind yourself that it’s important to go outside. It is good for your body and your mind.

A healthy mind in a healthy body

That’s also what tourism is: discovering the city without any precise goal.

What to pack for a mid-season week-end in Barcelona by Admin

Forget your triple layer winter coat if you travel to Barcelona during the mid-season. Here you will find the best tips to enjoy your stay as much as you can while, hopefully, remaining stylish.

One thing to take into consideration is to travel light. And if your aim is to visit the city from A to Z in just a weekend: think practical. You will always look more pretty on pictures with a casual and comfortable look than with a look that will not allow you to smile because your too hot, too cold or because your shoes make you want to cry.

What to pack for a mid-season week-end in Barcelona

That is why a pair of sneakers is always a good idea, you can bring your high-heels but keep them for the night if you plan to go out. Then, never forget the basics. A trench, a cardigan or a leather jacket is enough. For the bottom, just bring some jeans. Barcelona is not only a synonym of sun and party at the beach, you never know what the weather holds. That is why it can be tricky to travel during the mid-season because the weather is constantly changing, thus, temperatures are never the same. A sweater or light jacket is essential and you can wear a breathable t-shirt underneath it to stay comfortable.

Don’t be afraid to let your creativity speaks to keep you warm: mix fabrics, put a scarf on… but remember that packing heavy clothes is not a good idea as you will have to take them on/off every time you enter to a restaurant, a coffee shop, a museum.

What to pack for a mid-season week-end in Barcelona.

Now that you have all the information needed, stop looking desperately at your suitcase wondering whether you need your sunglasses or your umbrella, just take them both and be ready to enjoy the city’s best places.

Flea Market Barcelona

Taking place once a month on a Sunday close to the Drassanes metro station and hidden behind the Maritime Museum, the Flea Market is one of the coolest street flea markets in Barcelona. Selling a huge range of things, from secondhand clothing, to books, bags, jewellery and household items, they seem to have it all. From mid-morning until around 7 in the evening you can visit the market and shop around for a good bargain and even offer to make trades. The Flea Market has even gained such popularity that it decided to create a second type of second hand market in the city, which they have dubbed Fleadonia. This market takes place close to La Filmoteca de Catalunya, at Plaça Salvador Seguí. The next flea market event is on the 11.03.2018.

Healthy Lifestyle: Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body by Admin

A healthy mind breeds a health body and vise versa!

A healthy lifestyle can have a great impact on a person’s life! The human body and mind interact in an impressive way that works reciprocally.
The result of this interaction affects a human’s well-being greatly. Nowadays, many people are aware that their emotions may have a massive impact on their physical health. However, very few are aware that their physical condition also has a very powerful impact on their mental health and emotions.

This article will be going through a number of things one can do to improve their mental well-being by mainly taking care of their body.
Firstly, it is of utmost importance that we accept the fact that there is a strong psychological link between the body and brain. This way we will understand the importance of taking care of our body and ultimately feeling better both mentally and physically.

Nowadays, due to such hectic lives, many of us deal with a number of emotional states from time to time. This results into changes in our psychological well-being, both positively and negatively. These negative emotional states such as stress, anxiety, depression and so on are ones we try to fight through in various ways.
However, did you know that one of the most effective ways to do this is by controlling your body in effective ways?

EXERCISE

The first and most important is to exercise, exercise and exercise! Many people tend to underestimate the effectiveness of exercise and sport on mental health. However, in reality it is emphasized by many that physical activity alleviates symptoms that are associated with negative emotions. Yoga, for example, is known to heal the soul and that is a journey of the self, through the self and to the self.

Ashley Turner, a yoga teacher and licensed psychotherapist states –
“Yoga is a psychology – the whole practice helps us work with the nature of the mind, the nature of being a human, how emotions live in our bodies, how they affect our behavior and our minds.”

Healthy Lifestyle

FOR A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE – HEALTHY EATING, AVOIDING BAD HABITS AND POSITIVE THINKING

We must make sure to eat nutritious healthy meals. Drink a sufficient amount of water daily, get the advised 7 hours of sleep every night, and avoid cigarettes, alcohol and drugs. This guarantees more of a healthy lifestyle in general. Also, giving your brain and thinking box a break is proved to be very effective to improve the mental well-being overall.
Therefore, make sure to give your brain time to relax or just think of new, creative ideas that will create positive vibes.

Healthy Lifestyle

MINDFULNESS

Capture Models highly recommends this emerging phenomenon called Mindfulness.
This involves observing everything around us without filtering anything by our thoughts – Be the master of your body!
For instance,  focus on your breath whilst having your eyes closed, rather than constantly thinking about your daily activities. So just listen to your body at least once a day.

Healthy Lifestyle

If you do consider putting these into practice, I believe that your mind and body will be in sync and result into a healthier mind, body and lifestyle.
Nowadays, people spend way too much money on artificial things to live just one day longer. So why not just treat your body well and take precaution to live healthier?
